The city of Nashville was rocked by the murder on July 4th of Steve McNair, I feel badly for his wife and children, this will be something that is very hard for them to forget. It seems that McNair was having an affair with a 20 year old woman and she shot him and then shot herself. A great tragedy that would not of happened if McNair was at home with his wife and children. I pray for his kids this will be very tough on them.

3-D

We finally got a chance to see a movie in 3-D at the theater. I was not so impressed that i will be willing to spend the extra money to see a first run 3-D movie. It cost me almost $50 for three tickets and sodas and popcorn for my wife and I with our grandson. I can wait for the movies to come out on DVD for that price. Every old person in American can tell you how much the movie was in their day and I am no exception to that rule. It was $1.50 to get in and we brought our own sodas in our pockets of our coats, big change to today. I wish for the old days.

Cheaters

In a couple of weeks baseball cheater Manny Ramirez will return to major league baseball, and baseball will never be the same. I fear that Manny will be herald as a hero when he returns. Hell he did not go to war to fight for his country, I am not sure what his country is for sure. He was suspended for drug abuse and he should not be allowed to return to baseball, a game we have our kids play because it is the American past time. I for one will not cheer when Manny makes his return on July 3rd.

Fathers Day

Sunday is Fathers Day and I have absolutly no idea what to get for my Dad. He has everything he has ever wanted in this life and anything that I get as a gift will just be put on a shelf in the garage with all of the other gifts I have given him. One thing I might just do is get him a gift certificate to Home Depot, I think that is a great gift that even my grumpy old father would like on Fathers Day this year. Happy Fathers Day Walter I hope you like the gift card you got this year.

Movie time

Yesterday was the release date of a new movie that I have wanted to see since it was playing in the theater. We never seem to get out of the house long enough to go to a movie so I wait for the movie to be released on DVD. Then we get into bed with all five dogs well last night it was only four, Miss Dot must not be a Clint Eastwood fan. Gan Torino was good not Eastwood’s best effort but I enjoyed it and was very glad that I got to see it last night. I hope that is not his last movie as an actor.

I have never been a big fan of Vince Young, I though it was a terrible mistake for the Tennessee Titans to draft him, I though Jay Cutler would of been a beeter choice and by all things that have happend in the time since that 2006 draft it looks like no one was right in this draft all three quaterbacks taken have had their problems. Jay Cutler may have the best path to a good career now that he is in Chicago but only time will tell. I can not wait for the next football season. Go Cards!

Do not smile here

There are four states that you can not smile when you get your drivers licence photo taken, Arkansas, Indiana, Nevada and Virginia all frown on you smiling when you get your photo taken for your drivers licence. Makes no sense to me but I am not in charge so what can I do. Well maybe not think of moving to any of those four states. I guess those states know what is best for them. I do not smile in my photos for the state but that is my choice not theirs. It is getting more and more like a country I do not want to live in anymore.

Grass allergies

Up until today it has been trees causing most of my allergy problems, but today they say it is grass pollen causing me to sneeze and my eyes to hurt. I know this just lasts a few eeks then I am safe until the rag weed hits in the fall. Fall is when I have the most issues, some times my eyes swell shut because of the rag weed, not a big deal if you can stay home but it has happened to me while at work driving a truck, not a good thing for sure.

New car

As I keep fixing my vehicles I think it is about time to buy me a new car or better yet a new truck. I am not much of a car person they are way to small and cramped for a big guy like me. I have only ridden in a couple of cars that fit me and was a comfortable ride. Give me a truck or SUV any day and I will be one happy camper. My Tahoe is just the right size for me I love my truck but we have about driven the wheels off of it and it will need to be replaced one of these days. I hope my next vehicle is as good as the ones we have now.

Salt the world

We had snow in our forecast over the weekend so the city blasted the streets with salt and sprayed brine on them, and of course we got zero snow. So now we have a layer of salt and discolored roads due to the brine and now it is getting all over the cars so we look like a scene from a Stephan King movie all we are missing are the zombies and we would have it. Wait we have a lot of people from California here so we have some zombies already. Instant movie set.
